Dressing Up & Dressing Down
I don’t fall easily within a single style or for that matter a single size. I enjoy vintage reproductions, real vintage clothes, modern clothes, modest clothing, daring clothes, goth clothing and fantasy clothes.
For your fashion information, I am a typical apple shape. My current measurements are 37-32-35. I weigh 136. I stand 5’6” tall and I wear a size 9 in shoes.
My bra size is 36C but sometimes doesn’t fit the cups yet I have a large rib cage with a 34” under bust. My bust is “side-set” with a 3” chest gap making many deep v-shaped tops less than spectacular. My waist is broad and flat. My shoulders are wide. My hips are narrow and my bottom is flat. I carry weight primarily in my midsection.
I give you this information so if you can make more informed choices. Given that my hips are a size 0, paired with a waist that’s a size 12 and a bust that’s a size 10 it’s been a very difficult journey finding clothes that fit and I’ve often had to wear things that are “close enough “ which later encouraged me to seek out made-to-measure stuff when I can. Can you relate?
Be Yourself for Yourself
I believe you should dress for yourself. If you like it and you feel comfortable wearing it, you should. Fashion is important to me because it changes my mood for the better. In a world of butterflies, I am a bat.
